  • Who is eligible and how do I get started?

    Anyone who wishes to improve their health trajectory. We see patients of all ages. Get started with either a DIY program with medical consults along the way, or our Comprehensive 3,6 or 12 month programs with support from a Doctor, experienced Functional Medicine Health Coach, metabolically trained Health Coach, renowned hypnotherapist and experienced metabolic Nutritionist.   • What if I’m on multiple medications?

    That’s fine, most our our patients start that way. We aim to cease medication and supplements over time, by reversing insulin resistance, diabetes, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia and obesity. This is not always possible, though it frequently is. We’ll keep your GP informed step by step, so you can discuss with them the right time to stop medications. We will also offer you advanced testing that will provide you with greater insight into whether you truly need your medications (for example your LDL cholesterol may be high, but if the advanced lipid sub particle test shows your LDL is a safe, healthy form, then it’s probably not actually needing to be lowered with a medication).

  • Will you change my medications?

    Our goal is to empower you. Most patients can safely reduce or stop their medication in the long term. If your GP referred you to us we’ll write back to them regularly so they know about all proposed changes and can discuss them with you. In some cases we will need you to cease a medication immediately, for example if your blood pressure is much better controlled and your medication is no longer needed and taking it would lower your blood pressure too far. Rarely we will commence a medication but we’d always discuss it with you first, explain the reasoning, the likely duration before you could cease it, and where possible involve your GP.

  • I’ve tried tried diets, shakes, fasting or other approaches before?

    It’s quite common for our patients to have tried multiple approaches in the past and either got temporary results or none. Unfortunately the old idea of “eating less and exercising more” has caused enormous heartache and frustration, as it doesn’t work for most people. Everytime you starve yourself with a low calorie diet you slow your basal metabolic rate, making it harder to lose weight next time. Thankfully our approach is different, personalised and provides you the best pathway forward. We work with you on repairing your metabolism, so it’s easier in the long term to maintain your ideal weight. There are different approaches that all work. We work with you to give you choices and empower you with health coaching to ensure you stay on track.

  • Will this work for children or teenagers?

    Yes. These days many children are struggling with weight and other health issues. Obviously we can’t force people to participate so we work hard to empower young people to understand what to do and make it as easy and tasty as possible. A couple or family doing the program together makes it easier for everyone, but it is possible for an individual to do it alone, despite family, friends or peer pressure to stick to their old ways. Each patient journey is different, there motivations and challenges are unique. That is why we create a personalised, sustainable, achievable plan with you, and support you with health coaching. Sometimes even small changes can drastically change the trajectory of someone’s health. The best time is as young and early as possible.

  • I’m on insulin is it safe to do this?

    Yes, published studies actually show this approach is safe and effective. Most T2DM patients halve their insulin within a week or 2. Our goal is to help you to one day be able to cease it all together. T1DM patients get far greater blood sugar control and also tend to need less insulin.

  • I’m vegan, vegetarian, have food sensitivities, or a family to cook for, will this work for me?

    Yes, though it is harder as a vegan. Our team are experienced in working with people from different cultural backgrounds, dietary requirements and preferences. Our team know how to make things as easy and tasty as possible.

  • I lose motivation unless I’m seeing results

    That’s human nature and totally understandable. You should see results fairly quickly, and we help you stay on track thanks to each member of the team seeing you regularly

  • Do I need to exercise? (I have no time, have past injuries, arthritis, or just don’t like it)

    We get it. Thankfully our approach doesn’t require you do any exercise, though it will help if you can. We’ll discuss this in more detail with you. Chances are we will only suggest starting with a little movement per day, and you’re imaging a massive gym workout, which isn’t necessary.

  • I have no time?

    At some point in the day you will eat and drink. Those are the times we want you to do something different. The rest of the day is yours. Though we may suggest some gentle movement, meditation or other practices if we think that could really make a big difference in your unique situation. Health will improve and results are easier to get if you improve multiple areas at once such as diet, sleep, exercise, mind state. However you don’t need to if you have no time.

  • Do you offer surgery?

    No. We offer pretty much everything else though. Many people don’t realise but surgery can cause lifelong nutritional deficiencies, and surgery is often not able to be reversed. Surgery also often costs soo much money that people draw down on their superannuation to pay for it.

  • Can you still help me if I’ve already had surgery?

    Yes we can. Many patients have undergone gastric sleeve, had their gallbladder out or had other procedures. It is easier though if you haven’t.

  • What if high cholesterol runs in my family?

    Genetics matter, though what matters more is the epigenetics - how the environment both inside and outside your body interact with your genes. We’re familiar with genetics and can work with you, to help you become the healthiest metabolically you can possibly be.

  • I have other conditions such as depression, anxiety, autoimmune, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, inflammation, or sleep apnoea?

    This clinic is just focused on helping you restore your metabolic health, reverse insulin resistance and so forth. Most diseases get better when you reverse insulin resistance however that is not the focus. Your GP can assist you with your other health needs.
